Congress to celebrate Gujarat Day on May 1
Ahmedabad, Apr 28 (UNI) The Congress in Gujarat has chalked out a series of programmes to celebrate the 49th foundation day of the state in the capital, Gandhinagar.
State Congress chief Bharatsinh Solanki and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly told meddiapersons that the party will pay tribute to people, who led the movement for the separate statehood for Gujarat.
Congressmen will also take pledge to save the state from divisive and communal forces. Veteran Congressmen Brahmkumar Bhatt and Harihar Khambholja, who took active part in Maha Gujarat Movement, will be also felicitated on the occasion.
The function will be attended by Ahmed Patel, Political Secretary to Sonia Gandhi, AICC Co-ordinator Rajeev Shukla and Central ministers Shankersinh Vaghela and Naranbhai Rathva among others.
