Commander among two HM militants killed in north Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 28 (UNI) Two militants, including a self- styled Batallion Commander (BC) of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), were killed by the security forces in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir district of Baramulla today.
A defence ministry spokesman said troops of 29 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 45 battalion CRPF launched a joint operation at Palhalan, Pattan on Srinagar-Uri road this morning at 0700 hrs.
However, when the troops were sealing the area, militants opened fire. The fire was returned and in the fierce clash two militants were killed.
One of the slain militant has been identified as Waza a self styled BC while the other was Mohammad Yousuf Bhat alias Munir.
Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
