Sources, Apr 28: Harbhajan Singh accepts the allegation and pleads guilty. Harbhajan pleads during the hearing of code of conduct today in New delhi. Harbhajan also pleaded guilty to the slapping incident. He said, “I have no malice towards Sreesanth and whatever happened did not come from any ill intention."
He further said, "My primary focus is to play for my country. I have no malice towards anyone. All I want to say is whatever happened and whatever I did was grossly wrong. Sreesanth is like my brother. We have played together and we will play together again."
Harbhajan had allegedly slapped Sreesanth after a match between Punjab Kings XI and Mumbai Indians in Mohali on Friday. The fast bowler, who otherwise is known for his on-the-field aggression, was seen crying bitterly on the ground after the incident.
After TV footage showed Sreesanth crying, Harbhajan is learnt to have had a long chat with him in the dressing room of the Punjab team and also apologised for his behaviour. other the players tried to playdown the incident. But the Punjab Kings XI team management took the incident seriously and made an official complaint with the BCCI, after which the Board issued a show cause notice to Harbhajan and also temporarily suspended him from IPL.
