Bangarappa pits himself against B S Yeddyurappa in Shikaripura
Shimoga, Apr 28 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party state unit President S Bangarappa, today filed nomination papers in Shikaripur constituency in the district where BJP Chief Ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa is seeking re-election.
The other leaders who entered poll fray in the district today included former BJP minister K S Eshwarappa and former BJP MLA Araga Jnanendra from Shimoga Urban and Thirthahalli respectively.
After filing the nomination Mr Bangarappa told reporters that to cut short the growth of communal forces like the BJP in the state and to defeat Mr Yediyurappa, he has filed the nomination for assembly polls.
He alleged that BJP, JD(S) and the Congress had failed to uplift the people belonging to backward classes and down trodden in the state. Only Samajawadi Party was an alternate to all other parties in the state for all-round development.
