Three die and scores fall sick in heat wave
Jamshedpur, Apr 27 (UNI) Three people died and scores fell sick following heat wave conditions here.
Official sources said a guard of a private security agency collapsed at Bistupur due to sunstroke and two others died elsewhere as heat wave was sweeping across Chhotanagpur plateau of Jharkhand since last two weeks.
Hundreds of people were being admitted to the government hospitals and private nursing homes as they fell sick due to heat wave condition, the sources said.
The East Singhbhum district administration had directed the schools to advance the summer vacation if the wrath of the heat wave continued. The authority might issue an order for summer vacation from May 1 in view of rising temperature.
Local Met office today recorded the temparture at 42.4 degrees Celsius and minimum at 27.3 degrees. The mercury did not come down below 42 degrees mark since April 20. The highest temperature recorded at 42.9 degrees Celsius on April 24.
