Depression to cause rains in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Apr 27 (UNI) People in Orissa, experiencing scorching heat over the past few days, will soon heave a sigh of relief as a depression is formed over the Bay of Bengal.
According to a latest satellite imageries, a Low Pressure Area over South East Bay of Bengal and neighbouring areas that was formed yesterday has already concentrated into a depression and lay centred over South East Bay of Bengal at about 850 km South-Southeast of Gopalpur.
The system, Met sources said, would intensify further and move initially in North-Westerly direction to cause rain and thundershower at a few places over South Orissa and isolated parts over North Orissa.
Meanwhile, the authority has hoisted the Distant Cautionary Signal Number One (DC-I) at Paradeep and Gopalpur Ports and advised fishermen not to venture into the sea in the next 48 hours.
