Congress in TN will be strengthened: Vayalar Ravi
Chennai, Apr 27 (UNI) Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today said his first job was to strengthen the Congress in Tamil Nadu.
Talking to newspersons at the airport here, Mr Ravi, who took over as the Congress Committee Co-ordinator recently, said, ''Aafter the election in Karnataka, my first job is to strengthen the party in Tamil Nadu.'' ''Initially, we will conduct district and state-level party meetings to seek suggestions from party workers,'' he said, adding after getting the feedback, minor changes would be made in the state unit leadership.'' To a question, Mr Ravi made it clear that relationship between the Congress and the DMK in Tamil Nadu was good.
''The ties between the Congress and DMK are very strong and both the parties would perform well in the coming Parliamentary elections as it did in the last polls,'' he hoped.
