39.33 lakh metric tonnes wheat arrival in Haryana so far
Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) The arrival of wheat is gradually picking up in Haryana and as much as 39.33 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have arrived in the 362 mandis of Haryana so far since the procurement started from April 1.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said out of the total wheat arrival, 39.07 lakh MTs had been procured by six Government procuring agencies at the minimum support price (MSP)of Rs 1000 per quintal besides 25,740 metric tonnes was purchased by the traders.
The Deputy Chief Minister said 37.37 lakh MTs wheat was procured during the corresponding period of last year, of which 33.49 lakh MTs wheat was procured by the government procuring agencies. He said 1.95 lakh MTs more wheat was procured during the same period as compared to the last year.
While enumerating the detail of the arrival of the wheat in the mandis, he said Food and Supplies Department had procured 8.03 lakh MTs of wheat, HAFED had procured 14.74 lakh MTs,Haryana Warehousing Corporation 3.58 lakh MTs, Food Corporation of India (FCI) 6.11 lakh MTs, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 3.36 lakh MTs and Confed 3.23 lakh MTs.
The Deputy Chief Minister said district Karnal was leading with the arrival of 5.54 lakh MTs, followed by Kaithal 5.15 lakh MTs, Jind 4.45 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 4.16 lakh MTs, Kurukshetra 4.15 lakh MTs, Sirsa 4.05 lakh MTs, Faridabad 2.27 lakh MTs, Panipat 1.90 lakh MTs, Sonipat 1.61 lakh MTs, Hisar 1.59 lakh MTs, Ambala 1.29 lakh MTs, Mewat 46,999 MTs and Gurgaon 34,785 MTs of wheat.
He urged the farmers that they should bring their produce parched and clean so that they could get remunerative price.
