Imphal, Apr 26: A 15-member team from New Delhi, led by Union Cabinet Secretary M Chandrasekhar, today discussed the security situation in Manipur with state government officials.
Official sources said the team arrived here yesterday to take stock of the law and order situation in the state, two days after the bomb blast at the high security zone of Babupara in Imphal.
The team discussed various issues with Manipur Governor Dr S S Sidhu, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh, Director General of Police Y Joykumar and other state government officials.
The meeting was held at the Old Secretariat here, in which, other issues related to the various ongoing developmental projects and schemes will also be discussed.
The Jiri-Tupul rail line, development of NH-39 to a four lane, increasing capacity of storing petroleum products, FCI godowns in the hill districts were also discussed, officials said.
The other members of the team included Secretary (Co-ordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat Dr Renuka Choudhury, Defence Secretary Ajay Singh, Rural Development Secretary Dr F A Sharma, Planning Commission Advisor Dr Sinha, Home Secretary L Gupta, DoNER Ministry Secretary Vena S Rao, Director of Information Bureau P C Haidar, Petroleum Joint Secretary A K Jain and Director General of Road Development G Sharan.
