Talent hunt for new Congress 'Idols'

Guwahati, Apr 26 (UNI) To build its second and third generation leaders and involve educated youth into politics, the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress has begun a 'talent hunt' across the country.

The talent hunt will be organised on May 5 and 6.

Addressing mediapersons here today, APYC President Rekibuddin Ahmed said the basic objective of the programme was to construct a breed of young and talented team in India.

''It is Rahul Gandhi's vision and as we as youth Congress activist are trying to fulfill it,'' he said.

The APYC members said the participants have to be a member of Congress below 35 years of age.

''About 35 youths would be selected for the national team which will be groomed by Rahul Gandhi himself,'' the organisers said.
