Puducherry, Apr 26(UNI) Police investigation into the murder of Rajaram, a French national of Puducherry origin, today brought to light the murder of his son four months ago.
Police said Rajaram was hacked to death by a gang on the mission street here in broad daylight a few days ago, the following day after his arrival from France. Initially it was suspected that his son Rajani might have hatched the conspiracy to kill Rajaram, since Rajani was also not seen for a few days.
Police, however, on suspicion took Perumalraja, the son of Rajaram's sister into custody and interrogated him at an undisclosed location when he confessed to murdering Rajani and Rajaram.
Police also took into custody one Ramesh, a friend of Perumalraja, who assisted him in the crime. They were brought to the Ouppanaar canal, where they disposed the body of Rajani after cutting him into two pieces.
Police sources said Rajani was killed by Perumalraja four months back and his body was dumped in a tank at his residents. When the residents complained about foul smell, he again took the body, cut it into pieces and dumped in the canal in two bags.
Police retrived the body and further investigation was on.
Perumalraja had committed the crime reportedly to grab the properties of Rajaram here, police added.
