Pawn broker clubbed to death
Chennai, Apr 26 (UNI) A pawn broker was clubbed to death by an unidentified gang which decamped with 300 gm of gold jewellery from his shop at suburban Chromepet today.
Joint Commissioner of Police Durairaj, who visited the spot, said the murder might have taken place between 0850 hrs and 0900 hrs as the deceased, Motilal Jain (58), had not attended several calls that came on his mobile during that period.
The murder came to light, when a woman, who came to pledge her jewels found the pawn broker, hailing from Rajasthan, in a pool of blood in the inside room of the shop. A hockey stick was also found nearby.
Police have removed the body for post-mortem and launched a manhunt to nab the killers.
