Met forecast isolated rain in HP

Shimla, Apr 26 (UNI) The meteorological department has forecast light rains followed by thundershowers at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hrs, even as the night temperatures across the state rose slightly today.

Una town was the hottest place in the state with the maximum temperature in the town surging to 39.6 degrees.

The minimum temperature at Shimla town rose to 15.9 degrees as compared to 15.3 degree Celsius recorded yesterday, while the minimum at Sundernagar and Bhuntar fell to 14.1 and 12.2 degree Celsius respectively.

The met office said the night temperature in the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala rose by a few notches to 18.7 degree, as against 18.3 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.

Una's minimum temperature also rose by two degrees to stand at 16 degrees followed by 15.6 at Mandi, it said.

Shimla town's maximum temperature at 25.1 degree was more or less stationary as compared to yesterday, while Sundernagar was hot at 34.2 degrees.

The met office said Bhuntar's day temperature was 30 degrees, while Kalpa in Kinnuar district recorded a maximum of 17.5 degrees.

Dharamshala and Mandi towns were also hot at 31 and 35 degrees respectively, the met office said, adding that the presence of a weakened Western Disturbance (WD) was likely to bring rains at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
