INL to field candidates in Kerala, TN, WB, UP
Kozhikode, Apr 26 (UNI) The Indian National League (INL) will contest the 2009 general elections in alliance with friendly parties in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
A decision to this affect was taken at the political affairs committee of the party held here yesterday, INL all India President Muhammed Sulaiman told reporters here today.
He said the respective state committees have been directed to finalise candidates and submit their names to the national leadership for screening and final selection.
The state leadership had also been entrusted to forge electoral alliance with secular and like minded parties in these states, he said.
The meet expressed strong resentment over the US ''dictate'' asking India to talk tough to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on that country's nuclear programme during his visit to New Delhi.
''We urge the Centre to make it clear to the US administration that we don't require their advise on how to pursue our foreign policy with regard to our bilateral relations with other countries,'' a resolution adopted at the meet said.
