Digvijay moves up to tied 5th, Jeev tied 9th

Shanghai, Apr 26 (UNI) India's Digvijay Singh fired a bogey-free 67 while his famed compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh also returned a bogey-free 70 to climb up to tied fifth and tied ninth places respectively after the third round at the BMW Asian Open Golf here today.

Digvijay ended the third day with a total of three under 213 to trail the leader, Darren Clarke of Ireland by six strokes.

Jeev came back after an ordinary 76 in the second round to shoot a bogey-free 70 this morning.

The Indian ace started with back-to-back birdies on the first and second and then made pars all the way till the end and was tied ninth with an overall score of two under 214.

Digvijay followed up his first two rounds of 74 and 72 with a fabulous 67 today.

Digvijay had a solid front nine as he made pars on the first six holes before knocking down consecutive birdies on the seventh and eighth.

He had an even better back nine, picking up birdies on the 10th, 13th and 17th.

SSP Chowrasia (72, 73, 72) continued his consistent run here to be placed joint 32nd at one over 217 after the third round.

Chowrasia began with a birdie on the first and then made 12 consecutive pars up to the 13th hole. He birdied the 14th but fell back after dropping bogeys on the 16th and 18th.

Shiv Kapur (71, 75, 74) slipped from overnight tied 39th to tied 52nd as a result of his third round 74.

Kapur currently has an overall score of four over 220.
