Chennai, Apr 26 (UNI) It was full house much before the needle contest got off between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at the M A Chidambaram Stadium here today.
But there was a special VIP in the pavillion lounge to cheer the Super Kings, ace actor Kamal Haasan with the team's star ambassador Vijay, the super star of this generation. Kamal is in the limelight having launched the audio of his latest film 'Dasavatharam, in which he plays ten roles, a world record by any actor in world cinema.
Braving the scorching summer sun, cricket crazy fans, carrying placards and masks of their favourite cricketers of both the teams, cheered and danced in the gallaries two hours before the match as the entertainment programmes got off. The cheerleaders, following the ongoing controversy, were more carefully dressed on the directions from the local organisers of the league.
Ace drummer Sivamani struck the right rhythm for the frenzied fans to dance and swing.
The Super Kings, who lost the toss, went into the match on even keel with Kolkata Knight Riders, with two wins each from two outings before this contest.
