BJS demo in MP capital
Bhopal, Apr 26 (UNI) The Uma Bharti led Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) will stage a mammoth demonstration here on April 29, to draw the Madhya Pradesh government's attention to the ''fraud'' being perpetrated on farmers.
''If exploitation of about 70 per cent peasants does not stop then the BJS will launch an agitation at every grain market on May 1. Middlemen and touts prevent ryots from receiving the Rs 1,100 fixed per quintal for wheat,'' BJS Madhya Pradesh unit President Ashok Tripathi said at a press conference here.
Earlier, a delegation led by Mr Tripathi submitted a memorandum to Govenor Balram Jakhar.
The memo alleged that the regime purchased only three lakh tonnes of wheat as against a target of five lakh tonnes.
