Hyderabad, Apr 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today said the Telangana people would ''teach the TRS a lesson'' in the bypolls scheduled for May 29 to 18 Assembly and four Lok Sabha seats.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Srinivas said ''the TRS should not field its candidate in Khairatabad Assembly seat in the election necessitated by the death of Senior Congress Leader P Janardhan Reddy'' and added the TRS President and Former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao had already announced that the TRS would not field a candidate against Congress Candidate P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, son of the deceased Congress leader.'' Alleging the TRS chief had changed the party's stand and TRS wanted to contest in the election, he said the party would face hardships in the polls to the Assembly and four Lok Sabha seats, which fell vacant after the resignation of TRS MLAs and MPs, if contested in Khairatabad.

''Mr Reddy was a senior leader in Telangana. Everyone is showing sympathy towards Mr Vishuvardhan Reddy and majority of the parties have already accepted to elect him unanimously,'' the Congress Leader added.

Claiming the TRS chief had not responded to his phone calls, Mr Srinivas said he was ready to solve the issue through talks.

Exuding confidence that the Congress would win majority of seats in the by-election, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and himself were monitoring the performance of local leaders in the electioneering.
