UP reels under heat wave; Banda hottest for third day
Lucknow, Apr 25 (UNI) Heat wave condition continued to prevail in isolated parts of Uttar Pradesh and Banda remained hottest for the third consecutive day today.
According to the Met department, there wass no respite to people from scorching heat as heat wave condition were likely to persist in entire UP for few more days.
Due to the scorching sun at noon, people preferred to stay indoors.
In the last 24 hours, Varanasi, Bareilly, Agra, Faizabad, Jhansi, Meerut, Kanpur and Allahabad had recorded noticeable rise in the day temperature, Met department spokesperson said.
Banda remained the hottest with 44.1 degrees Celsius, which was three notches above the normal, whereas Varanasi was at 43.7 degrees C, Jhansi 43.3, Bareilly 41.4, Kanpur 42.8 and the state capital recorded 42.2 degrees Celsius.
Weather would remain dry in the next 24 hours, Met spokesperson added.
