Rahul tours Chhattisgarh
Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 25 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, who began a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh today as part of his 'Discover India' campaign, lunched with a tribal family in tribal-dominated Sarguja district's Lenga forest village amid tight security and took stock of implementation of central schemes especialy the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
Mr Gandhi arived at Darima airstrip in a special plane and reached Lenga via Ambikapur, Vishrampur and Surajpur. He halted at several points along the road and interacted with people.
The Amethi MP reached Lenga at 1300 hrs. The Gond-dominated village has a population of about 700. Mr Gandhi received several complaints on NREGS-linked payments.
The Congress leader's convoy then reached Mahgai village where he again received NREGS-related complaints. Mr Gandhi returned to the airstrip via Darima and went by air to Jagdalpur where he would spend the night.
