Police use force to evict students holding 'dharna' at SC lawns
New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) Police used force to remove a group of students who sat on a 'silent' dharna at the Supreme Court lawns this afternoon against government's alleged failure in emplementing the apex court's directions of not including the creamy layer in the reservation policy.
A group of about 250 students from AIIMS, IP University, JNU, MAMC, UCMS and JNU affiliated with Youth for Equality reached the SC lawns with banners and sat on a silent dharna against the Centre's failure in following the SC's guidelines in not including the creamy layer in the reservation policy.
''We are also worried over the move to provide reservation in PG courses,'' said Youth for Equality member and head of AIIMS residents association Kumar Harsh.
Police had to use force to disperse the students. The students were detained and later released, the police said.
