Patna, Apr 25 (UNI) The RJD today alleged that the NDA had ignored the interests of vaishya community and denied its proper representation during the expansion of Nitish Kumar Cabinet.
In a release issued here, senior RJD leader and former Bihar Minister Shankar Prasad Tekriwal said there were only two Ministers from the vaishya community in Nitish Kumar Cabinet, while during the erstwhile Lalu-Rabri regime more than six members of the community always got seats in the state cabinet.
''NDA leaders, especially deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi, never failed to claim that lot of works were being done for the benefit of the community but ironically nothing concrete was visible,'' he said, adding even the state government officers belonging to this community were shunted during the present regime.
Mr Tekriwal said the NDA had even tried to sabotage the Vaishya Ekta Rally on April 6 by dissuading its leaders from participating in the rally but even after that some of its leaders, managed to make their presence, on the occasion sensed the swing of mood of Vaishyas in favour of yjr RJD.
