Lahore Police revise most wanted terrorists' list to check suicide attacks

Lahore, Apr 25 : In the wake of the recent spurt in suicide attacks in the city, the Lahore Police has prepared an updated list of most wanted terrorists in the province.

All of those listed are members of banned militant organizations and are divided into three categories according to the nature of their offences, the Daily Times quoted sources in the Interior Ministry as saying.

Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Tassadaque Hussain said the law enforcement agencies revised the list every three months, stressing that they were working to arrest those mentioned on the list.

He said the process of arresting terrorists was ongoing.

The list had been prepared by a team consisting of personnel from law enforcement and intelligence agencies, said sources.

As many as 18 of the 30 terrorists in category A were on the run and had bounties for their location. The other 12 have been 'traced' or arrested.

The category A militants are directly involved in terrorist activities and wwre the most wanted terrorists. The militants in categories B and C have been asked to provide surety bonds and they have been barred from leaving the city without informing police personnel assigned to monitor their (the militants) activities.
