Jeev slips to 16th place, Jyoti fails to make the cut

{image-jeev milkha singh_25042008.jpg www.oneindia.com}Shanghai, Apr 25: Ace Indian pro Jeev Milkha Singh's form slumped dramatically as he carded four over par 76 to slip to tied 16th slot while strong contender Jyoti Randhawa failed to make the cut in the BMW Asian Open Golf here today.

Jeev along with three other Indians made the cut which was applied at three over 147 while four others fell by the way side. Rahil Gangjee (73, 75), Gaurav Ghei (74, 74) and Jyoti Randhawa (75, 73) were unfortunate to miss the cut by one stroke as they totalled four over 148 to finish tied 67th.
Amandeep Johl (78, 74) ended the tournament at tied 118th with an overall score of eight over 152. Jeev who was tied second after the first round, gave an uneven display this morning. His 76 was in total contrast to his first round score of 68. He ended day two with a total of even par 144 and trailed the joint leaders, Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen and China's Zhang Lian-Wei by five strokes.

Jeev had bogeys on the first, fourth, fifth, eighth, 11th and 14th and could manage birdies only on the ninth and 18th.

SSP Chowrasia (72, 73) climbed from overnight tied 35th to tied 29th as his total moved to one over 145. Chowrasia's round of 73 today included birdies on the seventh, 12th, 16th and 17th and bogeys on the eighth, 11th and 18th. He also double bogeyed the par four sixth.

Shiv Kapur (71, 75) and Digvijay Singh (74, 72) were the other two who managed to make the cut with an overall score of two over 146. The duo finished the day at tied 39th place.
