Chennai, Apr 25 (UNI) Former India captain Saurav Ganguly today regarded captaining India a greater honour than leading Kolkata Knight Riders for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Talking to newspersons here today before the practice session, the most successful Indian captain said ''it is never the same as captaining the Indian team in test and ODI matches''.
''Captaining in T20 is also good because the pressure gets over in three hours'', he added.
Ganguly also pointed out that batting in a test match is the most satisfying achievement compared to other forms of cricket.
''If someone bats well in test cricket, he can also do well in ODIs as well as T20s,'' he said, adding, ''good bowlers in tests would do well in T20 also''.
He said in T20 all that matters is who perfoms well on a particular day.''It is not like ODIs or a test cricket where you have time to get back into the game'' ''All the teams in this tournament are well balanced and all the players are doing well'', he said.
Ganguly also expressed confidence that his team would perform well against Chennai Kings tomorrow.
''We have a balanced team and we have picked some good bowlers into the team.''.
On leading the side with great cricketers like Ricky Ponting, Hussey, Chris Gayle and Brendan McCullum, he said ''It is a great feeling to captain a side with some great players. All the players are committed and really involved in the game''.
To a question, he said that Caribbean star Chris Gayle was not likely to play in tomorrow's match.
''Chris has sustained a groin injury. He would be fit only by next week'', he said.
Asked wheather his team would miss actor and team promoter Shah Rukh Khan, he said ''the entire city would miss him''.
