Trinamool
Kolkata, Apr 24 (UNI) The West Bengal BJP today held the Trinamool Congress and Congress responsible for failing to form an anti-Left Front alliance before the coming Panchayat election in West Bengal.
'' The Panchayat election holds special importance to the Opposition this time as there are several sensitive issues like those of Singur, Nandigram, Dinhata, PDS, BPL, unemployment, 100-days guaranteed employment schemes, besides skyrocketing prices of essentials, '' BJP state secretary Rahul Sinha told newsmen here today.
The formation of an alliance had failed to materialise because the Trinamool Congress had put some conditions to the Congress, while the latter was blatantly resorting to brokery of the ruling CPI(M)-led Left Front, he alleged.
He said it was the responsibility of the Trinamool Congress to form the anti-CPI(M) platform in the state as no regional or any individual political party would be able to dislodge the ruling Front from power.
The party had filed nominations in 9432 gram panchayat seats and 2122 and 483 in Panchayat Samity and Zilla Samity respectively.
