Six dead, several injured in road accident in HP
Chamba, Apr 24 (UNI) At least six people were killed and several others injured when a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, carrying them, veered off the road and fell in a gorge in Chamba district today, Deputy Commissioner Manish Garg said.
The accident occurred at Dehgran, about 88 km from here, on the Chamba-Sanwal road at 1534 hours this afternoon, he told UNI over the telephone.
Mr Garg said as of now six passengers have been confirmed dead in the accident while the number of the injured was not yet known.
Senior district officials and a rescue team comprising doctors have been rushed to the accident site, he added.
He said the cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known, adding he was also on his way to the accident site to supervise rescue and relief operations.
