Ranchi, Apr 24 (UNI) The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) has urged Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president Sibu Soren not to make any adverse remarks against the Congress as it was tantamount to violating the spirit of the UPA coalition.
''Mr Soren himself is a part of the UPA and making adverse comment against one of the coalition partners is against the coalition spirit,'' JPCC chief spokesperson Pradeep Tulsayan said today.
Mr Tulsayan said the JMM was a major constituent of the UPA in the state and therefore, Mr Soren should spare no pains to strengthen the unity of the coalition.
''Mr Soren is also the convenor of the steering committee, formed to monitor the functioning of Chief Minister Madhu Koda-led government in the state, and therefore it is his moral resposibility to maintain the UPA spirit,'' Mr Tulsayan iterated.
The JMM with, its 17 MLAs had extended support to the UPA-backed Koda government in the state.
