Mumbai, Apr 24 : The Shiv Sena today described senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gopinath Munde as daring for showing guts to rebel and make BJP leaders at the centre buckle to his demands.
An editorial in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna headlined "Dilli bhi Jhukti hai" said, "Leaders like Uma Bharati and Madanlal Khurana did rebel but they were shown the door. Only Munde rebelled and came back on his own terms."
"Munde had practically rebelled. He bluntly told the BJP leadership in Delhi that he would not go when he was summoned. Later, he relented and went to Delhi- but on his own terms - and got what he wanted," said the editorial edited by Bal Thackeray.
Earlier, annoyed by the BJP high commands' decision to appoint Madhur Chouhan as the Chief of Maharashatra party unit, Munde had resigned from all party posts and said would work at the grassroots level for the BJP. He later withdrew his resignation after meeting with BJP leaders L K Advani and Rajnath Singh.
