Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) Samsung India today announced the launch of its advanced 2008 series of LCD and Plasma televisions in the Indian market.
The new LCD series include the full HD LCD series 6 and 5 and the HD ready series 4 and 3.
Talking to newspersons here, Company Deputy Managing Director R Zutshi said ''we expect the full HD flat panel television range to constitute over 20 per cent of our flat panel TV volumes in the year.'' Elaborating, he said series 6 full HD LCD TV was developed by Samsung to further reduce glare in difficult lighting conditions and enable optimum picture viewing.
Priced between Rs 74,000 to Rs three lakh, the product contains a new layer of organic particles in the panel reducing reflection even more than the original super clear panel to provide remarkably improved clarity and a stunning dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000:1 in the 40, 46 and 52 inches models.
He said the 5 full HD LCD TV comes with full HD resolution(1920 x 1080), a fast 5ms response time and a 178 degree viewing angle.
Priced in the range between Rs 59,999 to Rs 1.30 lakh, the view can be further optimised with one of the three pre-programmed entertainment modes.
Mr Zutshi said series 4 LCD TV was designed with many of the same high end components used across Samsung's entire LCD line-up.
Priced in the range of Rs 25,000 to Rs 85,000, the TV come with a 6ms response time and 10,000:1 contrast ratio.
He said the series 3 TV comes with advanced features like 2 HDMI ports for connectivity with digital devices such as HD camcorders.
Priced between Rs 44,000 to Rs 77,000, the TV also comes with a 6ms response time and a contrast ratio of 8,000:1.
Mr Zutshi also announced the launch of 2008 Plasma TV range series 5 and 4.
