Private firms can't beat PSUs in terms of technology
New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Minister of State for Power Jairam Ramesh today said the public sector units are more advanced in terms of technology for generating power, and they cannot compete with the private firms.
''In terms of technology, the private firms cannot beat the public sector units,'' Mr Ramesh told reporters here.
He said the PSUs have a pivotal role for power generation in the next 15-20 years and added that creative partnership with the private sector firms is the need of the hour.
Mr Ramesh highlighted the compulsion of the PSUs such as political and bureaucratic hurdles.
''There is a great shortage of projects and management scheme in the public sector units.'' The Minister expressed hope that the private sector firms such as Tata Power, which has bagged Mundra UMPP, will fill the loopholes by bringing those managerial qualities.
