Muslims being targetted in the name of terrorism: JUH
Lucknow, Apr 24 (UNI) A frontal Muslim religious organisation Jamat Ulema-e-Hind (JUH) has criticised the discrimination against Muslims in the name of terrorism.
JUH president Maulana Quazi Mohammad Usman, during a seminar on anti-terrorism, claimed only non-discrimination could prevent rise of terrorism in the country.
Organisation General Secretary and Rastriya Lok Dal (RLD) Rajya Sabha member Mahmood Madani stressed further saying. ''Some state governments in the country were themselves triggering terrorism against our community.'' ''Even the most hardened criminals are allowed the right to self-defence, but the Muslim suspects, who are arrested in connection with terrorism are not allowed so,'' Mr Madani alleged.
Earlier, on Feburary 25, Deoband's Darul Uloom had adopted a resolution calling Jehadi terrorism 'un-Islamic'.
Maulana Usman today also dismissed dispute within the JUH and clarified that the 90-year-old organisation had always been a non-political outfit. But, he said ''the Jamat defeats or ensures victory of politicians who are born in this organisation.'Everyone of us is free to join any party they like but not the BJP. Jamat would fight against any one who joins the BJP, he said.
