Umaria, MP, Apr 24 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Suresh Pachouri today said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was daily announcing schemes worth crores despite the Bharatiya Janata Party regime being allegedly sunk in debt and having an empty treasury.
''The BJP failed to fulfill its poll promises. The Centre provided Rs 1,798 cr and Rs 110 cr under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Indira Awas Yojana respectively -- the figures were higher than last year -- but the state did not utilise the funds properly,'' he told mediapersons here.
On the industry front, the state was sliding as the development rate was 7.4 per cent in the Tenth Five-Year Plan period but dropped to 4.8, Mr Pachouri alleged while adding that the power crisis was worsening.
''The state government is taking credit for centrally-aided schemes,'' he added.
