Mumbai, Apr 24: Dell today launched its commercial partner programme - 'PartnerDirect' in India, to make its products available to greater number of customers across the Indian market through the Channel sales accounting for nearly 70 per cent of the volume sales for consumers and Small and medium Enterprises.
Moving to the metros and major cities, Dell India would over the next one year have its Channel partners in more than 100 cities and leverage on the channel strengths. ''We will not be over distributed like few of our competitors and provide customers a custom built machine of their choice and requirement,'' Dell India Vice President and General Manager Rajan Anandan told newsmen here today.
Announcing the launch of 'PartnerDirect' Dell Asia-Pacific (South) President Paul-Henri Ferrand said, Dell had been selecting its channel partners. The programme had been launched after over a year's discussions with the partners. ''We are progressing quickly and positively with our channel strategy, strengthening relationships with partners and ultimately, customers. We have commenced roll out of our 'PartnerDirect' programme across Asia-Pacific, and today, we are delighted to bring it to India,'' he added.
Dell has more than 30,000 global partners around the world, who generated approximately US D 10 billion in Dell run-rate revenue in the past year alone, he informed.
The programme gave solution providers the ability to provide their customers differentiated technology offerings, build to order custom configuration, custom factory integration, drop-ship capability and the latest technology. With this programme, solution providers could enjoy access to joint marketing programmes, dedicated sales and customer care and a soon to be introduced dedicated partner website.
PartnerDirect offered three levels of Partner participation: Solution Partners: Selling Dell products and services, focused on large corporates, Enterprise Partners: Selling Dell enterprise products like servers, storage and solutions to large and medium enterprise segments and Commercial Partners: Focused on the SMB segment.
''India is the fastest growing major market for Dell worldwide, and we continue to see tremendous opportunities for further expansion. We are committed to building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with our channel partners that will allow us to together take the Dell brand and advantages into the furthermost corners of the country,'' Mr Anandan said.
