Three arrested for making ''false''announcements of CM rally
Jammu, Apr 23 (UNI) Three people were apprehended by the police for making ''false announcements'' of a public rally of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in Kanhachak area on city outskirts today, police sources here csaid.
Police said the accused hired a mini bus last evening and started announcing publicly that the Chief Minister would be addressing the rally here today.
''The false announcements were inviting the locals especially the west Pakistan refugees to attend the public rally of Mr Azad,'' police told UNI, adding that the accused were appealing the public to participate in the rally at large.
On finding these announcements ''false'', the rural police swung into action and launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits.
''All the three accused were arrested this morning and have been booked for spreading rumours,'' the police said.
Meanwhile, the accused have been identified as Ram Lal resident of Halqa Marh, Mohan Lal resident of Pandorian and Rashpal Chand resident of Chak Chapra and booked under section 505 RPC against FIR 57 at Kanhachak police station.
