Hundreds of people were travelling on the roof of passenger vehicles in the valley because of shortage of transport facilities. The traffic department has also failed to take any action against the guilty drivers.

In another accident, five people, including a driver, were injured when a jeep in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Lassipora in the central Kashmir district of Badgam.
