Srinagar, Apr 23: Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 25 officials of different departments in north Kashmir, official sources said.

With this a total of 41 officials were suspended for remaining absent from duty during the past one week, they said.

They said to ensure punctuality and attendance in government offices, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, made a surprise inspection of 14 offices in the district.

During the checking he found 25 officials including some gazetted offices absent from duty, they said.

The officials were later placed under suspension, they said.

More than 100 officials, including doctors and engineers, have been suspended for remaining absent from duty in the Kashmir valley during the past two months, they said.
