Mamata confident of Trinamool supremacy in Nandigram
Gokulnagar(Nandigram), Apr 23 (UNI) All India Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today said she is confident that CPI(M) will be wiped out from Nandigram in the next elections.
Addressing a public meeting here after visiting the family members of Radharani Ari, who was allegedly gangraped by CPI(M) activists in Nandigram's Gokulnagar village, Ms Banerjee said that Congress has already withdrawn its candidates from most parts of Nandigram and added that she is confident that CPI(M) will also be wiped out by the next panchayat elections here.
She also said that Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi had enquired from Home Secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty on why Ms Banerjee's convoy was stopped from entering the village and meeting Mrs Ari's family members.
''The Governor is concerned about this and I have told him everything that happened on April 20,'' the AITC supremo said and added that she wanted to make sure that Ari's family was safe since she had received complaints from them that were being threatened by CPI(M) activists.
