Kazan, Apr 23 (UNI) Dejected after losing to Belgium in the Olympic Hockey Qualifiers, Indian womens' captain Mamta Kharab today blamed her team's woeful form in the penalty corners for the debacle.
''We are just failing in one area, that is, penalty corners.
There is sometimes problem in stopping which affects the rhythm,'' Kharab said. ''A couple of drag flicks missed very narrowly. We know this is the area we need to work and we are at it.'' But the forward from Haryana is not ready to concede that India out of contention for an Olympic berth just yet.
''We have to still play two matches, so also all other five teams. No team can be sure they reached the final and we are still in the race,'' she quipped.
India faces an uphill battle for olympic qualification after losing 2-3 to Belgium yesterday.
