Puducherry, Apr 23 (UNI) The Puducherry administration will initiate action against those who allegedly insulted senior government officials and prevented them from performing their work, under the pretext of government employees association, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Legislative Assembly today.
Replying to a special mention by AIADMK member A Anbazhagan during Zero Hour in this regard, Education Minister M O H F Shajahn said the offiicials were asked to lodge police complaints and cases were registered.
Mr Anbazhagan wanted to know what action the police had taken in the last three days after receiving the complaint.
Pointing out that on the charge of ransacking a government office, the CPI volunteers were arrested, cases registered and all of them were remanded the same day, he asked why this urgency was not shown in the case of government officials.
Intervening, Chief Minister said the government employees were organising agitations to press their demands even after assurance from the government that all steps would be taken to address their genuine grievances.
Stating that he was not aware of the incident and the police case, Mr Rangasamy said he would inquire and if any complaint was lodged, action would be taken against the culprits.
