Heat wave in Guj claims three more lives in three days
Ahmedabad, Apr 23 (UNI) The heat wave sweeping Gujarat has claimed three more lives in the last three days, taking the toll to 22, since the onset of summer.
Two of the deceased were from Bhavnagar district, while another person from Mahuva taluka died due to sunstroke yesterday.
Meanwhile, with a temperature of 42.5 degree Celsius, Idar in Sabarkantha became the hottest place in the state. Junagadh and Amareli recorded 42 degrees Celsius, Rajkot 41.8 degrees, Ahmedabad 40.3 degrees and Vadodara 41.4 degrees Celsius.
People remained indoors to escape the scorching heat. Cases of high blood pressure, sun stroke and acidity were on the rise, sources at the city hospitals said.
