Goa (India) outclass USS Cole by 13-1

Margao, Apr 23 (UNI) Goa (India) outplayed visiting personnel of United states Naval vessel, USS Cole by 13-1 home runs in an exhibition Baseball match, jointly organised by Goa Baseball Association and the American Consulate Centre, Mumbai, played at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Fatorda, in south Goa today.

In a totally one sided affair, Goa boys dominated the proceedings right form the start, outplaying the visitors in all the departments of the game.

Pratik Gaokar, Ritesh Gaokar, Krupesh Palkar, Sidhesh Naik and Ashay Korde excelled for host Goa by making two homes each. While Prasad Payaknavar, captain Kailash Goakar and Naresh Kundaikar made one home each.

For USS Cole, Raystan could manage to make only one home to reduce the margin.

The sports Authority of Goa, Executive Director V M Prabhudesai, who was the chief guest for the event gave away the trophies to both the winners and runners up teams.

Amateur Baseball Federation of India (ABFI) president Ramakant Angle and the American Consulate General Deputy media advisor Rekha Kalle were also present during the match.
