Electric shocks administered on 12-year old boy in Punjab

Ludhiana, Apr 23 (UNI) A 12-year old boy from Orissa was tortured and electrocuted to death by his abductor in a house in Bal Singh Nagar locality of the city last night, police today said.

The body of the victim, identified as Ratan was recovered from the house of Sant Lal, who had abducted the boy last night after his father failed to pay back a paltry sum of Rs 5000 which he had loaned out. Sant Lal, who belonged to Gorakhpur had loaned the money to Ratan's father a couple of weeks back.

According to the police, Ratan was tortured by Sant Lal who applied electric currents on his body parts till the boy died. The alleged culprit escaped after commiting the crime.

The victims parents had lodged a complaint with the police after he failed to return home late last night. The post mortem report confirmed that the boy died due to the electric shocks that were administered by his kidnapper.

The police has registered a case and have sent a police party to Gorakhpur for nabbing the culprit.
