10 bombs found in Charbagh railway station at UP

{image-uttar pradesh_23042008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Lucknow, Apr 23: A major disaster was averted this morning at the busy Charbagh railway station here when police detected 10 live bombs near a police chowki inside it.

According to police, during the routine checking, railway police detected 10 small crude bombs near the North-Eastern Railway (NER) chowki at around 0630 hrs. After the recovery of the bombs, police cordoned off the railway station and searched every nook and cranny all the platforms.'' Nothing was found during the search operation by the bomb squads even as railway passengers faced hardships following the action,'' railway sources said. Senior GRP officials said the live bombs have been sent for examination but preleminary reports suggest they were light intensity explosives. Meanwhile sources said during the time of detection of the bombs there was rush in all the platforms due to the arrival and the departure of several important long distance trains at Charbagh.
