London, Apr 22: A family of bakers has created the world's biggest scone, and it's 700 times bigger than a standard one. The colossal cake weighs 57lbs and measures 2ft in diameter. Bakery shop owner Helen Hallett, 46, created it with husband Mel, 53, and their three sons - it included 22 pints of clotted cream. The Hallett family's creation formed the centrepiece of the world's largest ever-cream tea assembled at a tea-themed festival in Torquay, Devon.
"We're excited to be entering the record books," the Telegraph quoted Helen, of nearby Paignton, as saying. Guinness World Records confirmed there was no previous record for cream teas - meaning that the Hallett family is assured of their place in the record books.
