Six-member tribal gang from Madhya Pradesh held
Jamnagar, Apr 22 (UNI) A six-member gang of tribals, hailing from Madhya Pradesh, was arrested by the police from Vijarkhi village, about 17 km away from the city on Jamnagar-Junagadh highway.
District Superintendent of Police Piushbhai Patel told mediapersons here today that the gang members, involved in loots and other crimes committed in Saurashtra region, were apprehended yesterday evening. Three mobiles, cash and silver ornaments were seized from the arrested accused.
During the interrogation, they have confessed to the crimes that they committed in Jamnagar, Porbandar and Rajkot.
Their modus operandi was to conduct a survey of lonely houses in farms on village borders in day time and at night they used to target these houses, beat people and loot cash and other valuables from the houses, he said.
The arrested accused were identified as Kunvarsing Richusing Dahediya, Vikramsing Viramsing, Kendusing Bhangadasing and Kalamsing Kesarsing Mahida (all from Jambuva district of Madhya Pradesh), while Bilamsing Jamsing Machhar and Mohansing Kamrusing Machhar from Dhar district of MP, he added.
