Mohali, Apr 22 (UNI) Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Inderjit Singh Bindra disclosed that Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar would be coming to play against Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match slated for April 25 at the PCA Stadium here.

Vice-captain Harbhajan Singh, who is also a member of the Mumbai Indians team, will also play. Mr Bindra said while addressing mediapersons at the PCA stadium conference hall here today.

Co-Chairman, IPL Technical Committee M P Pandove said that 20-20 cricket version is ''a game of batsmen''. When teams get used to the twenty-20 format and understand each others strategies, then there can be high scoring games, Mr Pandove said.

Refering to the element of excitement in a high scoring 20-20 game, Mr Pandove said that it was for this reason the IPL organisers had a seminar on pitch and ground preparations for all eight centres where the tournament is being staged.

Regarding the pitch at the Eden Gardens, Kolkota, Mr Pandove said that the required grass cover was removed from the pitch there.

''We have sent Daljit Singh to Kolkata and see where they have failed and guide them. The wicket should be one that is high scoring and at all the seven centres the score was on higher side and the totals have even crossed 200 on two occasions.'' Mr Pandove added.

In Kolkata the ball was not carrying of the wicket and bounce was uneven and it was not ideal for twenty20, he opined ''We have decided to adjudge the best the pitches and institute awards,'' he declared.

Replying to a question, Kings XI Punjab Chief Executive Officer Neil Maxwell said that the Australian players mid-tournament departure wont affect teh team much but Brett Lee would be missed as he is a popular guy but we have replacements.

Mr Bindra said ''priority will be given to interntional assignment and no player will be allowed to compete in IPL without clearance from his respective board. The IPL is a domestic affair.

However, IPL and internantional cricket will co-exit.'' Bindra was happy with TRP ratings of the IPL. The crowd response was good except at Mohali and Delhi while the Eden Gardens were jam-packed, he added.
