"I have been with BJP and will continue to be with BJP," Mr Munde told reporters while coming out from the residence of Mr Singh.
Mr Munde said he had been in the party for the past 30 years and at no point of time did he ever think of joining any other party, hence putting at rest speculation that he had plans to join another party. A former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Munde, who has considerable influence on OBCs in the state, drove down to Mr Advani's residence from the airport soon after his arrival where he held a two-hour one-on-one meeting with the former Deputy Prime Minister.

Later, he went to meet Mr Singh at his residence and explained his position. After the meetings, Mr Munde said he was fully satisfied with the talks he held with Mr Advani and Mr Singh. He also clarified that he had no problem to work with Maharashtra BJP unit Chief Nitin Ghadkari, contrary to the rumours that he was not happy with the style of functioning of Mr Gadkari.

The party earlier maintained a stoic silence over the issue and party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra at the party's daily briefing at 1530 hrs refused to either confirm or deny anything about Mr Munde's resignation, except the matter would be resolved amicably.
