IOA president Suresh Kalmadi today said in a statement that following the whole incident he has called for a meeting of executive committee to look into the matter in the best interest of the sports in India. ''An emergent meeting of the executive committee of the Indian Olympic Association has been convened on April 27 at 3 pm at the Indian Olympic Bhavan, to look into this matter and take necessary action in the interest of sports,'' Kalmadi said. Kalmadi also said he will meet the Sports Minister M S Gill today to discuss on the issue.

The sting operation that was carried out by a news channel clearly showed that after receiving a cash payment of Rs two lakh and a promise of another three lakh to be delivered to his man in Delhi, IHF general secretary Jothikumaran assured the SIT of getting a player picked up for the Indian senior hockey team to be selected for the Azlan Shah tournament next month.

The bribery of Rs two lakh was given to Jothikumaran in a five star hotel here in two instalments on April 10 and 11.
