Elvis' secret visit to England revealed
London, Apr 22 : For 50 years, English fans believed that the charming Elvis Presley never kept his foot on their land. But according to reports, the king of rock 'n roll did pay a secret visit to Great Britain.
It has been believed that Presley's visit to Scotland was his sole trip in the UK.
But according to theatre tycoon Bill Kenwright, Elvis, then 23, visited his pal Tommy Steele in 1958.
"Elvis flew in for a day and Tommy showed him round London. He showed him the Houses of Parliament and spent the day with him," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Entertainer Tommy, 71 - regarded in the 50s as the UK's answer to Elvis - said: "It was two young men sharing the same love of their music."
